Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib encourage colleagues to visit Israel

US representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib called on their colleagues to visit Israel in an emotional press conference on Monday, following the country’s decision last week to deny them entry amid pressure from Donald Trump. Omar said it was important that Trump and the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, should not ‘succeed in hiding the cruel reality of the occupation from us’.
