Trump expected to OK Israel’s annexation of the Jordan Valley | DW News
Israel has announced that it is beefing up forces in the Jordan Valley, which is part of the occupied West Bank, ahead of the unveiling of US President Donald Trump’s Middle East peace plan. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington along with opposition leader Benny Gantz, where they’ve been meeting with President Trump. Together they’re expected to present his long-awaited peace plan in a few hours’ time. While details of Trump’s proposal remain secret, there’s been speculation that it could give Israel the go-ahead to annex the Jordan Valley – a move that analysts say is sure to fan the conflict with the Palestinians.
